The Gartner TIME is the industry standard. It is a proven method for maximizing the business value and assessment of application portfolio.
Each application in the portfolio is evaluated for its functional and technical fit.
After application assessment, our Application Architects create a TIME diagram. The diagram has four quadrants (Tolerate, Invest, Migrate, Eliminate and show application evaluation status and value.
Technical fit assessment relates to the quality of the application. Is it easy to maintain? Does it require technical expertise or advanced training? Does the app meet or surpass technical standards? Maybe it’s slow and prone to outage, or it doesn’t function with another system, requiring manual data transfer. Or it could have security vulnerabilities or bad data.
Business fit assessment refers to how well the application aligns with the business needs and how supports business capabilities and processes. Essentially, the base question is: Does application meets business needs and enable achieving of the specific business goal?
By implementing a solution for application portfolio management, the company gets the opportunity to rationalize the costs of maintenance and purchase of new applications in accordance with the business requirements.
